The Iredell County Rescue Squad, Inc. is located at 1902 Wilkesboro Hwy. in Statesville, NC. We have provided the citizens of Iredell County , and those traveling through the area, professional rescue/medical services since 1961.We operate as a non-profit agency with funding provided by various  entities  and private donations.  Our response district
Covers approximately 45% of the county and includes a large portion of two major interstates , five major highways, city streets, and a municipal airport. We provide our services for 10 separate fire districts and the county EMS system.
We are staffed in, large part, by a volunteer work force.  Over the last few years, due to increase in call volume, we have added a 24 hr Paid drive staff to help in this increase. All members are provided a pager and are on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Response of personnel relies heavily on the use of a volunteer force leaving full time jobs or their families on a moments notice. Thus, our personnel is never guaranteed a full nights sleep, or making it through a meal without the possibility of a call. We are certified through the State of North Carolina as Heavy Rescue providers and strive to continually progress and maintain high levels of trained personnel. We currently operate 3 Crash Trucks, 3 Medic Units, 1 QRV, 2 Boats, 2 off road Support Vehicles.
We work closely with the other three rescue squads in the county to provide not only vehicle extrication and medical back up, but search and rescue, trench rescue, structural rescue, high level rescue, water rescue, blood relays for the hospitals, farm and
agriculture rescue, to name a few.  We anticipate future growth in the rescue and medical field, due to population growth and expansion of the area. We value the community we serve and its support in our endeavor to provide prompt and effective
