The Iredell County Rescue Squad was found in 1958 by two Statesville City Fireman. The all volunteer organization was chartered as a Non-Profit Organization in 1961. The original Iredell County Rescue Squad was located on West Front Street in Statesville, North Carolina.
Today the rescue squad is responsible for responding to all automotive,
industrial, and medical emergencies in the
district. The rescue
squads response district starts from I-40 West bound to the Catawba County Line,
East to the Davie County line. On Interstate
77, we dual respond with North Iredell Rescue to Exit 59 North and South to the
Third Creek bridge on Interstate 77 South. In the
downtown region we are
responsible for all areas in response with both the paid Statesville City Fire
Department and all surrounding Volunteer Department; Central Volunteer Fire
Department, Trinity
Volunteer Fire Department,
Monticello
Volunteer Fire Department, Ebenezer Volunteer Fire Department,
Cool Springs
Volunteer Fire Department, and West Iredell Volunteer Fire Department.
The Iredell County Rescue Squad is certified as a North Carolina Heavy Rescue Certified Squad, as well as being a North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services Intermediate Level Service. The Rescue Squad is 30 + both men and women strong. All members are very dedicated to the service.
To make our services more unique, through a grant from the North
Carolina Department of Insurance, and the Federal Government we have purchased 2 off road vehicles, to assist in rescuing people in a remote location
that would require an extensive rescue team. Please visit our picture area to view these vehicles.
